In
the Ganja-Gazakh zone, Tavkveri is also called Kakhet. It has been
brought to Azerbaijan from Eastern Georgia. As for
S.M.Cholokashvili, it has two types in Georgia. In Kartalini – it
is with functional female type of flowers. The sort cultivated
in Kakhetiya has self-pollinated flowers.
Tavkveri has been cultivated in all the winegrowing farms in the
western zone of Azerbaijan. In Azerbaijan, it is of functional
female type.
Bushes grow rapidly.
Clusters are large and medium-large, cone-shaped and winged.
Clusters are densely set if pollinated normally and farbetween
if knotted in peas. Stalk is very firm.
Seeds are medium, round, deformed in dense clusters, dark-blue covered with thick wax layer. The wax layer gives blue
nuance to seeds. Skin is thick and tough. Languid is juicy and tasty with pleasant fruit flavor.
Productivity is high (20-30 tons from one hectare). Gets
pollinated naturally if mixed with Bayanishire clone. Sugar productivity
is 17-19 percent, sourness – 7-8,5 g/l.
