It's
a local sort of Azerbaijan. There is no information about the origin of
the sort. It was brought to the Azerbaijan
Agricultural Institute (Ganja, Kharaba yeri village) vine
collection after being cultivated only in Aghdam region in mid-1940s. In
mid –1960s, the wine collection was abandoned under the constructions
of buildings and there wasn't a new vineyard
until 1969.
Bushes of Zeynabi grow rapidly. Flowers are self-pollinated. Bunches are big, cone-shaped, and not dense. Stalk remains
tender. Seeds are big and oval shaped and pink. Skin is of medium thickness, firm; its wax layer is medium thick and can
easily be separated from the skin. Languid is fleshy, a little juicy and the taste is ordinary.
After being gathered, it can be preserved for a long time and
transported to distant destinations. Becomes fully ripen at the
end of September. Medium weight bunches reach 210-260 grams. It
contains 15-18 percent sugar.
